Ok, so we were able to pull everything together before Brian go home and we actually have a chance to sit down. I feel like a teenager who threw a party while her parents were out of town trying to get everything back to normal before they got home! LOL. We actually had a very busy week we rearranged the living room and put away all the summer clothes, but boy oh boy an hour ago you would have thought a bomb went off here.
Tomorrow is going to be crazy. We are finishing off a portion of our basement and barring now power outages the sheet rock process should begin tomorrow. I can't even tell you how long I've waited for this project to be done. I want to reclaim my living room as an adult room....is that selfish?
Speaking of kids, have your kids ever got you thinking about the past not just recent past but long ago? My oldest has this infectious laugh. You know the kind that you just start laughing when you hear it. It made me think back to my childhood. Contrary to popular belief I used to have a sense of humor. It doesn't rear its head to often any more and I don't know why. I contemplate why I have started (15 yrs + ago) to take life so seriously. I mean honestly I take life and every aspect of it seriously now and not only that I take everything personally. I used to be more fun loving, outgoing, funny, but now I'm boring...my kids would say I'm old. Now that's something I never thought of before I'm old. I mean honestly, the fact that I've had 2 back surgeries and 2 c-sections should probably make me feel old, but I really don't. Out of shape yes old no. I'm not a hip mom. I like my jeans and t-shirts although I must say I LOVE the clothing from Art and Soul Boutique their skirts are so cute and comfortable. I recently purchased 3 of them from there and typically I don' wear skirts. Let me define typically, I've been with my husband for 5 yrs and he's seen me in 4 skirts/dresses. I am very involved with my kids. I am a member of the PTA, help teaching Sunday School, help with a daily playgroup at a local fitness center and sit on our church council. I actually am in the process of putting together a "Young Author's" program for my daughter's school. The idea behind it is to have the kids write their own books, draw pictures, create covers and then present them to the school community. I haven't worked out all the details, but that's the basic idea and I will probably work it into the Parent's As Reading Partners (PARP) program I organize for the school. So, for anyone who thinks being a stay at home mom is all bon bon's and television they are sadly mistaken. As you can see, there are many chapters in the book I call My Life.
